The Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) licenses the Jewish Preschool of Lexington. Our policies and procedures are designed to comply with these requirements. Enrollment at the Jewish Preschool of Lexington is non-discriminatory. Enrollment is granted to any child regardless to sex, race, color, religion, national origin, cultural heritage, political belief, or disability. A child has to be two years old on the date he/she starts school and not older than kindergarten age. Children do not have to be toilet trained to be eligible for enrollment.

Prior to enrollment, parents will be invited to meet with the Director or with an alternate designated staff person, to visit the school and observe the classrooms. Likewise, parents will be encouraged to bring their child to meet with educators and visit the school. Upon request, parents will be provided with written materials regarding policies and procedures.

Upon enrollment at JPL, children and parents will be invited and encouraged to attend an orientation session to the program.

Information about an Enrolled Child

Parents will be required to complete information about their enrolled child. All information will be kept strictly confidential. Some of the information will pertain to the child’s development as well as general information about the child, such as “Tell Us About Your Child.” Information must be updated annually.

Parents are invited to share with the Director information about previous experiences in a school setting or any other information which may be pertinent for our program. This will help our staff in creating a setting that is supportive of the child’s needs. Information about other therapeutic, educational social and/or support services must be communicated with JPL Director.
